God was working in David’s conscience

Lessons for Leaders from David #1708

2 Samuel 24. Evidently during the same night God was working in David’s conscience, He was also giving a message to Gad to pass on to David. If the Holy Spirit is saying the same thing or working toward the same end in different people simultaneously, that is a good indication that it is God who is speaking. The one voice confirms the other. As the story proceeds, we will see how David repented of his sin and yet is punished for it and how God’s responses to David repenting lead to further development of David’s character.
