The conscience is a blessing

2 Samuel 24. What a blessing is quick repentance and its favorable consequences! David suffered a just and necessary correction for this sin. During the night God and David’s conscience had been at work so he was ready to receive God’s message which Gad brought to him. The spirit of man has the abilities to worship, exercise faith, experience awe, sense God’s workings and feel guilt. The conscience with which God has gifted mankind is a blessing, not a curse. That is, if we respond correctly to it.
