Why was Ziba so eager to again try to favorably impress David?

2 Samuel 19. For several days we will discuss Mephibosheth, but Ziba is present also (17) here and is a part of Mephibosheth’s complete story. Earlier we noted in 2 Samuel 16 that Ziba had appeared early in David’s escape from Jerusalem and did good for David. Now, here in chapter 19 he appears again and verses 17, 18 say, “With him were a thousand Benjamites, along with Ziba, the steward of Saul’s household, and his fifteen sons and twenty servants. They rushed to the Jordan, where the king was. They crossed at the ford to take the king’s household over and to do whatever he wished.” Why was Ziba so eager to again try to favorably impress David?
